Sometimes the most unexpected performances provide the most lasting memories.
On entering Lizotte’s Restaurant at Kincumber, you immediately feel warm and welcome. The place is very nostalgic, decorated with memorabilia from the many local and international artists that have performed at this cosy Theatre Restaurant.
Although a full house for New Years Eve, the staff were friendly and the service extremely efficient. Dinner was served in a timely manner and was a true delight and the best was yet to come, Sticky Date Pudding to die for, the best ever!
Then it was time for the show. I was very open to the evenings performance as I had no idea what to expect as I am not normally a Blues fan, however, these guys were fantastic, great soulful music and true entertainers.
Cara is the show all on her own, she is mesmerising and although seated at a drum kit plays an array of instruments from the rough and rugged washboard, strapped over her should, to a dainty flute!
Take a look below, Cara is a true talent!
The guys had everyone up on their feet and clapping their hands and stomping their feet, playing right through until midnight when the entire restaurant celebrated the count down to New Year.
What an uplifting way to welcome in the New Year.
Not something I would normally have on my radar as an evening of choice but I must say I am a convert to the Blues Music scene and in particular the wonderfully entertaining Cara Robinson.
Check out their great album “Wiley Ways” and they will have you too clapping and stomping your feet!
Happy New Year
